Before Jessica Alba became an A-list actress or was hailed the Sexiest Woman of the Year, she was a sickness-prone child who landed a few TV commercials and small series parts. he struck gold in 2000 when she was handpicked by Titanic director James Cameron to be the star of his sci-fi series Dark Angel. At the age of 18, Alba became engaged to older costar Michael Weatherly, but the two split in 2003. She later said, “I don’t know [why I got engaged]. I was a virgin. He was 12 years older than me. I thought he knew better.” After dancing her way through Honey, Alba learned the art of stripping for Sin City, and played the Invisible Woman in Fantastic Four while beginning her second on-set romance — this time with director’s assistant Cash Warren. The two quickly became an item. n March 2006, an unauthorized photo of the bikini-clad actress landed on the cover of Playboy magazine. Alba threatened to sue but dropped it when Hugh Hefner personally apologized and made donations to two of her favorite charities. Eva Longoria Parker spent all last week stumping for her new movie, Over Her Dead Body, on every major talk show in existence but it was all for naught: the film opened in 11th place with a paltry $4.6 million. To further explain how disappointing that is, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, which has been in theaters for seven weeks and is showing on half as many screens, made just $1 million less.
Joining the Desperate Housewives star in the losers club was Jessica Alba and her film The Eye, which was just four years too late in jumping on the Japanese horror movie bandwagon. On the positive side The Eye made $13 million on its opening weekend which is a million bucks more than Jessica’s last film, Awake, made in its entire run — oh wait, that’s not really a positive… hey, we’re trying here!
The weekend’s big winner was predictably Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour, which made $29 million on just 683 screens, securing a place in the record books. Christina Aguilera is making the transition from “Dirrty” diva to changing dirty diapers. Just as Madonna has been the mother of reinvention, Aguilera has come a long way since she was the little girl with the big voice on the Mickey Mouse Club in 1993.
In 1999 she released her self-titled debut album, which spawned the hit single “Genie in a Bottle.” She sang about being rubbed the right way in that song, but she got even more suggestive in 2002 with her raunchy hit “Dirrty.” In the video, Aguilera slithered around suggestively in a pair of leather chaps. The survey about what people look for when they go under the knife was released and it's a tad creepy, in a celebrity-Frankenstein kind of way. Imagine, someone having Pamela Anderson's boobs, Jennifer Lopez's butt and Sophia Loren's cheeks and eyes. Hard to picture, isn't it? But the survey's results say that these celebrity features are the most popular, and that "the perfect woman" would be built from them.

Sources tell PageSix.com that a montage of Angelina's previous on-screen work was prepared but scrapped by her reps at the last minute.
While similar clips were prepared and shown for all other festival honorees this year (including Javier Bardem, Cate Blanchett and Ryan Gosling) motives for the Angie montage-axing are unclear.
It seems her humble beginnings in what she described as "cheesy" films aren't to blame, as Angelina isn't embarrased by fare like Cyborg 2. "The first one was Jean-Claude Van Damme, the second was me at 17," she dead-panned about the 1993 sci-fi flick.
She also has no quams about her more cultish films, like the computer geek 90's fave Hackers.
"As Brad knows, he's in the audience, I really don't know how to turn on a computer," she said.Indeed her partner in crime Brad Pitt was in attendance, seated in a center row just a few back from the stage (just right of Clint Eastwood, on hand to present the trophy to Angelina) where she discussed her film career, including the choice that landed her Brad and an ever-expanding family."It's one of those ones that I think Brad and I both tried to get out of," Angelina said of the couple's 2005 hit Mr. & Mrs. Smith, "obviously I'm grateful I did [the movie] because it changed my life."

Jessica is currently on location filming Easy Virture, a film based on Noel Coward's 1924 play, about an American divorcee that marries a stuffy Englishman on the fly.
Top acting coach Ivanna Chubbuck has been working with Jessica (the coach has previously lead stars like Halle Berry, Terrence Howard and Charlize Theron to award-worthy performances) on the film, where audiences will see a different side of the actress. A funny one.
"She gets to do something we've never really seen her do before, high comedy," Chubbuck told PageSix.com. Jessica and the coach have been working intensely by phone, going over performance notes and honing her craft.
As the part centers on a woman in love, we couldn't help but wonder if Jess is calling up some current feelings for Justin to make the role feel more authentic?
"It's about the truth of what you want. Don't you find the funniest things that you've done in your life have been in the name of desperation? The more you wanted [someone] to fall in love with you, the sillier you got. The stupider you go," Chubbuck said of the movitation she's given Jess

Over the past few years, her life has been a roller-coaster ride. In 2004 Spears married childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas. The union lasted 55 hours and ended in an annulment. Spears married for a second time nine months later. Her new husband was backup dancer Kevin Federline, whose then-girlfriend Shar Jackson was pregnant with his second child. Chicken fingers were served, music played on a boombox, and the groomsmen wore sweat suits emblazoned with the word "Pimps."

Anna Nicole Smith crammed more into her 39 years than most people do in a lifetime. A high school dropout, Smith was waitressing in a fried chicken restaurant when she fell for the cook, Billy Wayne Smith. They wed in 1985, when she was 17. A year later she gave birth to their son, Daniel.
Her Hollywood story might have ended there, but Smith had bigger dreams. She split from her husband, began working as a stripper and in 1991, she saw an ad for Playboy. The following year, she appeared in the magazine and modeled for Guess.
In 1993, Smith married billionaire J. Howard Marshall. He was 89; she was 26. Smith claimed she didn’t marry him for his money, but she did admit that being Anna Nicole Smith was expensive. "It's terrible, the things I have to do to be me," she said. Within weeks of Marshall’s death in 1995, she began a legal battle with his son over the oil tycoon’s $1.6 billion estate.
While Smith’s attempts to launch an acting career floundered, she had a hit in 2002 with her reality series, The Anna Nicole Show. But her world came crashing down in September 2006 when her son, Daniel, died in the Bahamas just three days after Smith gave birth to daughter Dannielynn. She was inconsolable, and just five months after Daniel’s death, Smith passed away. The coroner blamed an accidental overdose, but David Giancola, director of her last film, Illegal Aliens, had another theory: “She died of a broken heart.”

A source supplied Page Six with e-mails sent to "Entertainment Tonight" by David Leigh of Splash News on Arthur's behalf, offering the show exclusive rights to her private memorial for Daniel after his drug death in September 2006. "She'll go to the Bahamas if you want . . . She would like to visit the grave, and it would make pretty emotive pix of her doing so," he writes. Daniel, 20, died while visiting Anna Nicole at the maternity ward in Nassau after she'd given birth to his half-sister, Dannielynn. Our insider said: "[Arthur] started hustling right after her grandson died . . . She started hawking exclusive access to her own memorial in Mexia for Daniel . . . She's hunting media deals within days of her grandson's demise, while accusing [Anna Nicole's lawyer-turned-lover Howard K.] Stern of mopping up the money." Arthur's lawyer, Neil McCabe, said he was unaware of the deal and that Arthur would not comment. Anna Nicole died last year of "combined drug intoxication."
The inquest into Anna Nicole Smith's son's death continued in the Bahamas today, with yet another shocking accusation. The Associated Press reports that South Carolina developer G. Ben Thompson testified that Smith companion Howard K. Stern took photos of Daniel Smith after he died, saying the pictures "might be worth some money one day." "I was totally shocked he was taking pictures of a dead child laying in that bed," Thompson, who briefly dated Anna Nicole, told lawyers for Daniel's grandmother, Virgie Arthur.
Thompson's son also testified today, alleging that Howard got rid of two white pills found in Daniel's clothes after his collapse. Autopsy reports state that the 20-year-old died of an overdose.In response, Howard's attorney said that Thompson had forwarded the same claims in a 2007 appearance on Geraldo Rivera's TV show to get back at Howard for a dispute the two men had over Anna's Nassau mansion.The next round of testimony, including word from Larry Birkhead, will begin on March 17.
Daniel Smith, the deceased son of Anna Nicole Smith, longed to disassociate from the image of his mother and the subsequent media circus surrounding her, a family friend stated today.
The Associated Press reports that Ford Shelley, who was linked to the company that developed Anna Nicole's Bahamian home, testified at an inquest into Daniel's death today. "He loved his mother but didn't want to be known as her son," Shelley said, adding, "he wanted to break free."
While an independent autopsy conducted in January of last year concluded that a lethal drug cocktail was responsible for the 20 year-old's passing, Ford claims that Daniel was timid toward drugs and "couldn't even hold his liquor." Not the case for his mother Anna Nicole, according to Ford, who claimed that the blonde kept her prescription drugs (prescribed to four different aliases) in a duffel bag, among them methadone in both liquid and pill form, which examiners say largely contributed to Daniel's death. The inquest, made today in Nassau, Bahamas, was attended by Anna Nicole's longtime companion Howard K. Stern as well as her mother, Virgie Arthur, and continues through tomorrow with statements expected from two different nannies who cared for Dannielynn while on the Island. At its close a jury will decide the official causes of Daniel's death and advise on appropriate criminal charges if fault is determined. A lawyer for Anna Nicole's attorney and companion, Howard K. Stern, who was present when Daniel died, said that the drugs Daniel was taking were all for either depression or back pain.Anna Nicole was devastated over the loss of her only son, and just five months later, she died suddenly in a Florida hotel.Investigators found that she also had a mix of medications in her system when she passed away, including methadone, anti-anxiety medication and even human growth hormone.
Testimony in Daniel's case is expected to resume tomorrow.
